My Origami Friends

Kanagroo

Rabbit

Frog

Pig

Bear

Dinosaur

Hen & Egg

Sausage Dog

Elephant

Cat

The little firends are finally up here after the return of exhibition.
As you may (or maynot)realise that they are made with scrapped
papers, mostly the back of envelops. It is not necessary to have
fancy paper to do paper crafting; if you pay enough attention to
paper all around, you will be surprised by what you find!
I am still putting my exegesis together. (slowly & sometimes sadly)
Assuming I need to work it through the weekend and rush straight
to printer and bindery before the uni door is shut on Monday.
Risky, exciting and very last-minute...

Kirigami

Out of Focus
I 'pre-made' this kirigami which belongs to 28/03 because...
Actually, there is no because.
I just hunger for new challenges,
and this 3D kirigami seemed challaging.

[Project Status] blurry, unsure, but still fascinating
(exactly like this shot)

Nathan Gray

Origami with Nathan Gray

I went to Nathan Gray's workshop at the Narrows last Saturday. He shared his experience and interesting things he met in Brazil, and then we did origami together. We made this massive origami out of 30 sheets of his exhibition poster, which is designed to be used as origami paper. At the end, I was lucky enough to take this origami home when the exhibition ends. yay
Love the idea of reusing the poster and of cousre, the workshop.

Accidents

Accidents

Yesterday was the last working day of 2008. yay
Since we were workig for celebrities, everyone was stressed out (including the flashes) One of the flashes burnt three times during the function, which never happens before. It's a new record!!! So, I kept the fuses. They all have different looks. Lucky me, found something interesting again.

a real break

Undiscovered Island

I found this island while I was doing random cooking. It is the last bit of Chinese cabbage. I have seen and eaten so many of them, but I have never found an island before. Isn't it cute?
A piece of A4 sheet and a good spot with natural light give me a mini studio at home.

Mum is here...

I did the photo shoot for my folio at Roei's place yesterday. He was so nice that set up the lighting for me which made the shoot go alot smoother. The lighting was real good, but still, it took us qutie a while to make it perfect. (super bright and clean)
The sunlight was so nice this morning, so I decided to shoot my jewellery work again with the perfect sunlight. And the outcome was so good and so close to the lighting we had yesterday...

The Power of Nature

The Power of Freezer

um... of course this is not part of my jewellery work. I just found the colour scheme goes well with the jewellery :p By the way, I found this fly in the freezer, poor thing...

Someone was passing these kind of paper around the studio for other people to put down what the person is... and this is my paper. It's interesting to compare the ways people see me and the way I see myself. Some of them are so true, but some of them are not really, e.g. hardworking

This is the mock up for my book project. The idea is using book as a decoration. Some people buy heavy text book or literatures or encyclopedia for fill up and decorate book shelves and they don't really read the books. They just want to show their tastes or coolness. So, why don't I just make a book for decoration. The content for this book is gonna be the photos I took in the past 4 years. Here are some of them...

leave me alone, okay?

I think I like photographing trash...

Contingent & Designed

I have been doing random snap shots recently, haven't done proper set up shots for awhile. Finally, I have the chance to do it. Here are some photos for my studio project. I was working on a food scrap recycling project. Great fun to play with the scraps :) The first picture is the same pok choy from last week, after veggie printing. I've never painted pok choy before, kind of tricky but still fun!

Tuesday (left), Friday (right)
I found a paper spoon and a paper knife on floor, so my instant reaction was to pick them up and left them on the shelf. I have no idea why I did that. Just feel like to... and I went to library again today, and I found the spoon was still there, but the knife was gone(so sad...). The spoon looked like has been tortured, what had happened?

A candid from work. They were watching the groom and bride, the light was so pretty!
